Connecting Research, Industry & Standards

Dr. Robert Fish is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Princeton University, where he has taught since 2015. He is also President of NETovations, LLC, a consulting firm focused on communications and network innovation.

His career spans the full arc of the communications industry — from foundational research at Bell Laboratories on the digital transformation of the telecom network, to pioneering informal video communications and presence mechanisms at Bellcore/Telcordia, to leading Panasonic's US R&D laboratories embedding networking into consumer devices, to executive roles in mobile device management startups.

The author of numerous publications and holder of 17 patents, Rob earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University and is a Fellow of the IEEE, elevated for his contributions to visual communications and networking.
